Terms of Service
These terms cover the IT consulting and support work bruvs performs, whether billed by the hour or under a monthly managed plan. By asking us to do work for you, you are agreeing to what is below. If something here does not fit your situation, tell us and we will put a separate written agreement in place.
What we do
We provide IT consulting, support, and managed services: troubleshooting and repair, network and Wi-Fi work, email and cloud setup, backups, security hardening, hardware procurement, new office and employee setup, camera systems, and ongoing monitoring and maintenance. Work can be performed on site in Orange County or remotely.
We will tell you honestly when something is outside what we do well, and point you somewhere better when that is the right answer.
Rates and billing
- Business hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm Pacific): $95 per hour.
- Nights and weekends: $125 per hour.
- Managed plans: starting at $395 per month, scoped to your setup.
Hourly work is billed in increments and includes time spent on site, remote, and on directly related phone or email work. Travel outside our normal service area, parts, hardware, software licenses, and third-party subscriptions are billed separately at cost unless we have quoted otherwise in writing.
Invoices are due on receipt unless we have agreed to other terms. Managed plans are billed monthly in advance. We may pause work on materially overdue accounts after letting you know.
Managed plans
Managed plans include priority scheduling ahead of hourly work, proactive monitoring, patching and check-ins, a set number of support hours each month, and a dedicated point of contact who knows your setup. The specific scope, included hours, and covered devices are set out in your plan summary.
Included hours do not roll over month to month. Work beyond the included hours is billed at your plan's discounted hourly rate. Plans run month to month with no long-term contract; either of us can cancel with 30 days' written notice. Fees already paid for the current month are not refunded.
Scheduling and response
We schedule work as promptly as we reasonably can and prioritize managed plan clients and outages that stop a business from operating. Unless your plan states a specific response time, response times are best effort. Please give us as much notice as you can for on-site visits, and let us know at least 24 hours ahead if you need to reschedule.
Your responsibilities
- Give us safe and timely access to the systems, premises, and accounts needed to do the work, and authorization to make the changes we agree on.
- Confirm that you own or are licensed to use the hardware, software, and services we are asked to work on.
- Keep a current backup of anything you cannot afford to lose. We will help you set backups up and monitor them, but responsibility for your data ultimately sits with you.
- Tell us about known problems, compliance obligations, or unusual configurations.
Third-party products and services
Hardware, software, internet service, and cloud platforms we recommend or purchase on your behalf are covered by their own manufacturer or vendor warranties and terms. We are not the manufacturer and cannot extend those warranties, though we will help you pursue a claim.
Confidentiality
We treat your business information as confidential and only access what we need to perform the work. See our Privacy Policy for the detail. Where your industry requires it, we will sign a business associate agreement or a separate confidentiality agreement.
Warranty and limitation of liability
We perform our work with reasonable skill and care in line with normal industry practice. Apart from that, our services are provided without other warranties, express or implied.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising from our work is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific work that gave rise to the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Cancellation
You can cancel or reschedule hourly work at no cost with at least 24 hours' notice. Managed plans can be cancelled by either party with 30 days' written notice. On termination, we will hand over documentation, credentials, and configuration details for the systems we manage.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the current version always lives on this page with the date at the top. Changes affecting an active managed plan take effect at your next renewal and we will let you know in advance.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Orange County, California. Questions? Email contact@bruvs.org or call 949-682-9753.
